Beautiful antique photo portrait of Dr. Andrew Suydam Fritts in a horse-drawn carriage. The back of the photo is signed, Very Truly Yours, A Suydam Fritts. Good antique condition.
Andrew "Judy" Suydam Fritts was born on May 20, 1873, in Mechanicsville, New Jersey, to Margaret Hunt Suydam and Dr. John Thomas Fritts, the youngest of three children and only son. He married Maude Elise Saltzman in New Vernon, New Jersey, on October 1, 1893, when he was 20 years old, just as he was entering New York Medical College. He began suffering from a growth on his left wrist while he was in medical school. His father removed the growth in September 1894. In December 1895, the growth was again removed at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, and it was diagnosed as a sarcoma. In March of 1896, he was advised to have his left arm amputated at the elbow. Maude and Suydam had a son, Robert P., born on August 5, 1897, but little Robert died just a few months later on October 29, 1897. Margaret Hunt Suydam Fritts died a few months after her grandson, on January 11, 1898, at the age of 51. The younger Suydam and Maude were living in Hawley, Pennsylvania in 1900. They separated on September 1, 1903. On April 7, 1905, Suydam marrired Lillian R Richards at his father's home in Plainfield, New Jersey when he was 32 years old. The couple lived in Binghamton, New York, in 1905. Their daughter Margaret was born on August 19, 1907. Suydam's father, John Thomas Fritts, passed away on February 8, 1909, in Plainfield, New Jersey, at the age of 64. His wife Lillian R passed away on January 28, 1910, in Binghamton, New York, at the age of 35. They had been married 5 years. Suydam Fritts married Caroline (Callie) E. Barry in Binghamton, New York, on December 15, 1910, when he was 37 years old. She passed away on December 3, 1930, in Somerset, New York, at the age of 61. They had been married 19 years. Suydam Fritts married Helen Coral Jones in Binghamton, New York, on August 1, 1932, when he was 59 years old. She passed away on February 26, 1943, in Binghamton, New York, at the age of 50. They had been married 10 years. Suydam Fritts died on August 8, 1945, in Binghamton, New York, when he was 72 years old.

I ship all items the next business day after I receive them. First Class mail generally takes 3-5 business days in the U.S. Priority Mail takes 1-3 days in the U.S. However, please note that it took the US Postal Service 21 days to deliver one First Class package to California. Shipping to other countries can take 2-6 weeks via First Class International. If you need something for a specific date, consider using Priority Mail or Priority Mail Express.
Generally, no. I'm a one-woman operation and I don't have any live models available. I take great effort to photograph items on measuring devices such as ring mandrels, rulers in millimeters and inches, and scales. I also offer returns, so that if your item is not exactly what you want, you are welcome to return it for a refund.
I offer layaway for items over $300. You may make up to 3 monthly payments for a handling fee of $5. A 10% cancellation fee will be charged if you cancel the order. No discounts apply.
