My grandmother, who was born in Italy, instilled in her many children and grandchildren a love of history, culture, and beauty. She somehow saved up $2,000 on her own and bought her family a house and later told her husband. Her son, my uncle, picked up bicycles and furniture on bulk trash day to fix up for his children. He learned how to refinish and reupholster and repair. He later specialized in cut glass and opened a booth in an antiques mall in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. I loved visiting the different booths and learning all I could about antiques.
I bought my first Noritake salt and pepper shakers at a yard sale when I was 10. By age 12, I had picked up an end table that was missing the glass or marble top and learned to refinish it. I have been collecting, restoring, and reselling ever since.
I currently have the great fortune to live in the beautiful state of North Carolina, and have access to amazing estate sales, church sales, and live auctions. Come explore fine North Carolina vintage treasures with me.
I have been selling online since 2001, so buy with confidence!
