This exquisite christening dress and under dress features embroidery, tucks, lace, and tiny buttons. Some yellowing from age; otherwise, good condition from the estate of the late Henry "Chip" Watkins of Creedmoor, North Carolina. This was his christening outfit.
Henry Carrington "Chip" Watkins IV was born on August 10, 1953, in North Carolina to Elizabeth Ann Jones and Henry "Hank" Carrington Watkins III. Chip grew up in eastern North Carolina, where he attended school at the Arendell Parrott Academy in Kinston and later the Woodberry Forest School in Virginia. He studied botany at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, exhibiting a unique ability to retain and recall Latin and common plant names. Following school, Chip spent a few years traveling the United States, eventually landing for a while in Wrightsville Beach where he worked in construction and operated a Good Humor ice cream truck. Eventually Chip returned to the Durham-Chapel Hill area and followed his botany training, working at The Potted Plant and Durham Hardware. In 1997, Chip began working at Reddmill Nursery in Durham where he was known as "The Plant Man", having a wide and deep knowledge of landscape plants and trees. He spent the next 22 years as the nursery manager, retiring in 2019 due to health reasons. He died on June 27, 2020 in Durham, North Carolina, when he was 66 years old. Chip was predeceased by his parents Elizabeth Jones Watkins and Henry Carrington Watkins and a brother Thaddeus Watkins.

I ship all items the next business day after I receive them. First Class mail generally takes 3-5 business days in the U.S. Priority Mail takes 1-3 days in the U.S. However, please note that it took the US Postal Service 21 days to deliver one First Class package to California. Shipping to other countries can take 2-6 weeks via First Class International. If you need something for a specific date, consider using Priority Mail or Priority Mail Express.
Generally, no. I'm a one-woman operation and I don't have any live models available. I take great effort to photograph items on measuring devices such as ring mandrels, rulers in millimeters and inches, and scales. I also offer returns, so that if your item is not exactly what you want, you are welcome to return it for a refund.
I offer layaway for items over $300. You may make up to 3 monthly payments for a handling fee of $5. A 10% cancellation fee will be charged if you cancel the order. No discounts apply.
